Meet the Candidates: Adam Rosenberg

Bio:

I am originally from Portland, OR. I went to public school for ten years and finished my high school studies at Ner Yisrael in Baltimore. Upon graduation, I spent a year and a half at Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh, and entered YU two years ago as a part of the Post Pesach Program. After YU I plan on pursuing a career in Real Estate Development. I love reading (specifically [Jewish] history and philosophy) spending time with friends, writing, playing piano, and singing.

Why are you running for this position on student council?      

I am running for YSU President because I feel like I can make a positive impact on Yeshiva University and help progress its ideals. I have always loved to be involved with my peers and help them achieve their dreams. Friends and fellow students often turn to me for advice in various matters, and I felt that I would be a more effective guide and leader if elected YSU President. In looking back at my term as YCSA Secretary/Treasurer, I have realized that being YSU President will help me pursue my own ambition to help other students achieve their goals while studying at Yeshiva University .    

What experience do you bring to this position?   

During my first year at Yeshiva University, I served as Sophomore Class President. I also served as a volunteer for the Medical Ethics Society, a member of the Debate Team, a core volunteer for YUPAC, and a part-time staff writer for the Commentator. I have also worked at the Seforim Sale for two years as a manager of the "Scholarly Works" section. Presently, I have concentrated my leadership activities on YCSA, where I serve as Secretary/Treasurer. On the side, I serve as an NCSY Advisor for the Atlantic Seaboard Region.

What, if any, other leadership commitments are you taking on next year?

While my future leadership commitments in these groups is currently unknown, I plan on being involved with the Seforim Sale, YUPAC, and the Debate Team. Outside of YU, I plan to continue in my role as an NCSY Advisor.              

How many credits do you plan on taking next semester?

At YU, I...

I live in a YU dorm, I eat at least half of my meals in the caf, I have not faced any disciplinary action from Yeshiva University, I do not have a criminal record nor have I been arrested

Why should students vote for you over any other candidate?

I understand the way that Student Council and other various YU offices work, which helps me to get things done in an effective way. Additionally, I try to be friends with as many people as possible, which has helped me gain a better understanding of the diversity of the YU student body and all that entails.
