Meet the Candidates: Aaron Miller
Aaron Miller, Political Science
Desired position in Student Government:
VP Junior Class
Bio:
I currently reside in Chicago and am finishing off my first year on campus after completing one year in Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh. I enjoy politics and worked on two campaigns for my local congressman. I have a twin who attends Mcgill where I can be found frequently visiting him.
Why are you running for this position on student council?
Student government should not be merely another line on somebody's resume. I want to help to represent the junior class so that their voices can be heard in YU's student government. Also, I was disappointed with the lack of activities specifically for our class and would work to build a more united junior class.
What experience do you bring to this position?
I served in the student senate in high school which provided me with essential tools for being an effective leader and representative of my class. In the senate, I actively participated to ensure that I fairly represented the opinions of my classmates. I hope to bring this experience to the table in representing the junior class.
What, if any, other leadership commitments are you taking on next year?
I hope to continue to be involved as a SHEM ambassador.
How many credits do you plan on taking next semester?
15
At YU, I...
I live in a YU dorm, I eat at least half of my meals in the caf, I stay in Washington Heights at least two shabbatot a month, I have not faced any disciplinary action from Yeshiva University, I do not have a criminal record nor have I been arrested
Why should students vote for you over any other candidate?
I do not come in with any personal agendas with the exception of fairly representing the junior class. I want to ensure that everybody's voice is heard.
