Dr. Litman Debates On Freedom At NYU; Upholds the Aristotelian Concept of Liberty In Informal Discussion (Vol. 1, Issue 7)

Dr. Alexander Litman of the Yeshiva College faculty, upheld the Aristotelian concept of liberty in an informal debate with Everett Dean Martin on the question “What Is Individual Liberty?” held at New York University on Wednesday evening, Oct. 29. Dr. Martin, professor of social philosophy at Cooper Union, spoke in favor of a modified version of the Aristotelian concept. 

Dr. Litman is scheduled to give a series of three lectures at Cooper Union on January 7, 14 and 21, 1935 on Roman political philosophy. They will be a part of a schedule of public lectures on political and social philosophy to be given by various prominent men at Cooper Union this winter. 

To Lecture at Y.M.H.A 

Dr. Litman is also scheduled to lecture before Y.M.H.A audiences this January on the topic of “Foour Types of Jewish Minds in Western Civilization”. He will discuss Spinoza, Mendelsohn, Herman Cohen, and Henry Bergson.
