Freshmen Object to Friday Classes; Claim Difficulty in Week-end Trips (Vol. 1, Issue 2)

With the changing of Freshmen Public Speaking from Thursday afternoon to Friday, the members of the Freshmen Class voiced their opposition to the change in a vigorous petition filed with the administration. According to the chairman of the petition committee, the change of schedule invokes considerable hardship for the Freshmen.

Many members of the class live out of town and it is claimed that the Friday period makes it almost impossible for them to spend their week-ends away from school.

It has been the policy of the administration in the past few years not, to hold classes on Friday, since Teachers’ Institute students have no sessions on that day and such classes involve much loss of time.

The recent modification of policy  in this respect, with the accompanying difficult to students, is the prime reason for the Freshmen petition.
