Meet the Candidates: Max Gordon

Max Gordon,  Accounting

Desired position in Student Government:

IBC President

Bio:

My name is Max Gordon and I am running for President for the Isaac Breuer College. I am from Chicago, Illinois where I attended Ida Crown Jewish Academy for high school (Go Aces!). Currently, I am wrapping up my second year here at Yeshiva University where I plan on majoring and pursuing a career in Accounting. I don't think I'm such an intimidating guy, so if anybody has any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions, regarding IBC please feel free to approach me.

Why are you running for this position on student council?

See below:
(question regarding experience)

What experience do you bring to this position?

Who remembers Michael Jordan's rookie year for the Chicago Bulls in 1984? Probably no one since we were either to young or not even born yet. Point is, MJ ended up posting stats of 28 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds per game during his rookie campaign without any previous NBA experience. Clearly, a season to remember. Just like Mike, I come into Student Council with out any previous experience during my high school and colligate career. Instead of viewing this as a disadvantage, my lack of experience will motivate me to work even harder. As IBC President, I will make it my priority for everyones voice to be heard and I am confident that I will be able to improve the overall quality of IBC. Guys, IBC is about to become I-B-Cool. With your votes, next year will surely be a year to remember. It's time to take it to the Max and vote for Max!

What, if any, other leadership commitments are you taking on next year?

The past 2 years, I have filled a variety of different on campus poisons. Currently, I am the business manager and staff writer for the The Sy Syms Review which is the official business publication of Yeshiva University. In addition, I am a board member of the Sports Management club (run by legend Gabe Davidoff), member of the accounting society, accounting peer tutor, online journalist for Macslive.com, and a participant of intramural basketball and Frisbee.

How many credits do you plan on taking next semester?

Anywhere from 15-17 Credits

At YU, I…

I live in a YU dorm, I eat at least half of my meals in the caf, I have not faced any disciplinary action from Yeshiva University, I do not have a criminal record nor have I been arrested

Why should students vote for you over any other candidate?
